RFID equipment

I have two of them and enjoy them.

Certainly some issues, but across many other readers as well. This one
does have a great development platform, code samples, and user
forum/support. For that, and the price, not a bad one for an intro device.

Actually, upon closer inspection, this kit may bot be so much fun.

**Notes About the Reader before Purchasing:*

    * The RFID Reader and Tags in this kit are READ ONLY.
    * The read range on the reader is 4 inches or less depending upon
      the tag you are using.
    * The reader cannot read multiple tags in the field at the same time.
    * Readers placed too close to each other will cause them to fail in
operation. Allow at least a meter of distance between readers. For
closer placement you must make use of the reader on/off feature to
access one reader at a time.
    * The reader antenna cannot be detached from the RFID reader or
      altered in any way.

Lots of limitations I wouldn't like all that much. Thoughts on it?

I had completely forgotten about that kit. I think I'll go ahead and
grab it too. I imagine there's plenty of information in there for
someone that doesn't know anything about RFID.

    Hey guys,

I've been interested in purchasing some RFID equipment, you know, the
fancy stuff you always hear about which hackers are able read the
    tags
    from across the room.

Basically, I'd like to purchase an RFID reader (and writer?). But I'm
not certain what exactly I'm looking for, and I'm not certain
    where to
began. I'd like to grab a decent piece of equipment, instead of
purchasing a really cheap one off of eBay and regretting it later.

So can anyone point me in the correct direction?
I know Larry has done some research, and even mentioned an article,
but I'd like to get the collective opinion of the mailing list, also.
