Thanks for posting this - there isn't nearly enough infosec resources (IMHO)
within a reasonable distance for people in east TN. Speaking of, what's the
status of the ISSA chapter there? I've got a guy working for me down there
and am trying to get him plugged into everything I possibly can.

The ETCSS Committee proudly presents the Fifth Annual East Tennessee
CyberSecurity Summit to be held in beautiful downtown Knoxville,
Tennessee at the Knoxville-Hilton Hotel on October 20th and 21st, 2009.

The Conference is co-hosted this year by the same sponsors as the last
for years, the FBI, UT, Fountainhead College, TVA, TVA-OIG, and a new
member joins us this year, Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
InfraGard chapter members, IT professionals in academia, government,
law, and private industry from across the region including Atlanta,
Nashville, Columbia, and the Raleigh/Durham area, will be attending as
well.

The event is just two months away so mark your calendars now and plan
ahead. Repeat attendees, high conference quality, and four prior
successful events predict that seats will sell out early.
An early registration fee of $95 per person will cover conference
admission and include:

? 16 hours of Continuing Professional Education units,
? Learning from and networking with your colleagues,
? Lunch and parking for both days of the conference
? A special accommodation rate at the Hilton for conference
attendees

To register for the event please visit our web site at

You've spoken in past years and we've been listening. This year
we've changed the schedule to incorporate some of your requests.
This year we are offering:

Two breakout sessions ? with limited seating
Forensics - data preservation, new forensics-related hardware and
software, and best practices in the profession.
SANS Session Material ? access to SANS class education material

A panel wrap up at the end of each day comprised of speakers, field
experts, and knowledgeable peers, with ample time to discuss all your
tough questions.

More break time so you can network and mingle with your peers.

The theme for this year's conference is "CyberSecurity in a
Downturn Economy"

We are pleased to be able to again present Kevin Mandia from Mandiant
and Paul Williams from Grayhat Research. Bill Dean, with Sword and
Shield, joins us again this year with information on the forensics of
Intellectual Property Theft. Ben Feinstein from SecureWorks in Atlanta
is joining us to share his expertise as it relates to malware and how to
better defend against it. Speakers from Elavon will be presenting an
"autopsy" of a case study to help clarify how an incident is
handled from beginning to end.
