While the reporting of this isn't anywhere near as clean as DumpSec, it does the job: xcacls http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318754 I have yet to experience issues like your describing with DumpSec, would be curious to hear more about what you're seeing? -----Original Message----- From: pauldotcom-bounces at mail.pauldotcom.com [mailto:pauldotcom-bounces at mail.pauldotcom.com] On Behalf Of Chris Teodorski Sent: Thursday, September 10, 2009 9:13 AM To: pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com Subject: [Pauldotcom] DumpSec replacement All, We've been having some weird issues with DumpSec lately. We use it primarily to get a comprehensive dump of NTFS permissions on some of our windows environments. The tool hasn't been updated since 2005, so it could be having issues with "newer" versions of NTFS. I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation of a tool (preferably something cheap/free and still under active development) that we could use as a replacement for DumpSec. I seem to remember a discussion like this previously on the mailing list, but I couldn't find it. Thanks, Chris _______________________________________________ Pauldotcom mailing list Pauldotcom at mail.pauldotcom.com http://mail.pauldotcom.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pauldotcom Main Web Site: http://pauldotcom.com
