has the ncrack release been tested with both SOCKS 4 and 5?

I used socks4a instead of socks5 because socks5 (from what I remember)
would require an additional round of communication between the client and
the proxy. I can't remember why I didn't just include 4, 4a, and 5. I've
tested both 4 and 4a, but not using every module. If anyone wants socks5
for ncrack I can check if there was an issue with including the socks5
nsock code.

The Ncrack 0.5 release is finally ready!

https://nmap.org/ncrack/
https://github.com/nmap/ncrack/

The main new features and improvements are:

- Added 4 new modules: Redis, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SIP. Thanks to edeirme
for implementing the Redis, PostgreSQL and MySQL modules.

- Added --pairwise option for special username/password iteration.

- Added --proxy option and proxy support implementation. Many thanks to
Andrew Farabee (https://github.com/andrewfarabee/) for implementing it.

- Updated the Ncrack openssh library, now based on the OpenSSH 7.1
codebase
and updated the SSH module to support all the latest ciphers.

Cheers,

ithilgore (Fotis Hantzis)

Hi..

I tried downloading the latest version (n14) and use wireshark 2.0.2, but
even ping doesn't' seem to register anything in wireshark (I do see the
loopback adapter, and told wireshark to capture packets only from it)

Hello,

I believe I have found an issue with nmap -PU in the latest release (7.01
for Windows and Linux). According to my wireshark sniffer, this is
sending
out TCP packets instead of UDP packets or is being totally ignored and
performing a SYN ping as I get the same results for both.

Thanks,

Mark

Dear Fyodor,

I thought the npcap logo could be done in a moderate amount of time, that
is why I am reaching out to you today to present a logo idea I had in mind,
according to Daniel Miller?s idea to use a nose.
I hope you will like it, don?t hesitate to contact me for comments or
other ideas.
