Hi Sir,

I am Prabuddha Dubey and i'm pursuing my undergrad from BITS Pilani. I
would like to apply for GSOC 2013 under the following profiles :-

1. Nmap Scripting engine script developer

2. Winpcap specialist

3. Exploring port scanning from within NSE

I have experience with the following languages C, Java, C#, PHP, Python,
MySql, and Javascript.
I'll completing lua scripting too, soon.
I also have in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking techniques, server
administration, network administration and routing techniques.

I had few doubts regarding nmap and would like to find the solutions too.

1. While doing a thorough scan of some known systems, I have frequently
observed the wrong results(null after several attempts) in the OS
detection(mainly in Windows) and also in the listing of several ports. How
can this be solved ?

2. Although Windows generally doesn't allow the port scanning of localhost,
but can this be solved anyway with any change in the nmap script engine...?
(When scan is done it gives erroneous results)

Thank you.
