Don't run --script all. Some scripts run for hours or days in their normal configuration. Delete your ~/.zenmap/scan_profile.usp file and Zenmap will recreate it. The current "Slow comprehensive scan" profile is this: nmap -sS -sU -T4 -A -v -PE -PS80,443 -PA3389 -PP -PU40125 -PY --source-port 53 --script "default or (discovery and safe)" Zenmap should update these profiles automatically. That is doesn't is a known bug.
Should I take it then that deleting ~/.zenmap/scan_profile.usp will result in a most-current, more-correct profile replacing it? This should be done just on updating versions, or more often? So that was the remains of the distro version, which was much older and froze up a lot. I get it.
