I tried using two different syntax for port scanning. While scanning using this option: -p1-1024 on a target ,the ports open on the target were not detected by nmap. However when I targeted a specific port say port 541, it shows that the port is open.I have also confirmed through telnet that the port is found to be open.
This shouldn't happen. Does Nmap miss the port every time? What if you use the -T2 option to make the scan go slower?
