Hi Henri,

On Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 11:28:48AM +0200 or thereabouts, Henri Salo wrote:

Should that be changed to:

"Service detection performed. Please report any incorrect results at
http://nmap.org/submit/.";

And also check that www-server supports that dot in the url if someone
writes it or copies it to browser. This could be done by forwarding user
to correct page.

I think the space is there to avoid anybody accidentally copying the
dot along with the URL. On my system, when I double-click a URL it
highlights until the next space which makes copying URLs that are
surrounded by whitespace easier.

One exception to this is domain names, for example:

"So come visit us at http://nmap.org.";

In this case, the period is fine and is arguably even more correct
because it will anchor the domain at the top level so it can't
be confused with, for instance, nmap.org.myisp.com. if your resolver
tests for local sub-domains (see the search directive of resolv.conf).

Hope this helps,

Doug
