upgrade from openbsd pkg to current version

[GWK <gwkrocker () shaw ca>]

I am running openbsd 4.0, I had previously added the package nmap-4.11 
and have been using it without problems.
I attempted to install 4.21 alpha4 and get a make failure  at traceroute.
it terminates at "****[traceroute.o] error 1"

gmake -i error display is " traceroute.o No such file or directory "
am i missing something?
