Hello,

I am having problems compiling nmap v4.03 and it might be a bug. I checked my Debian and I seem
to have GTK installed from apt-get command. I didn't have problems with v4.01 FrontEnd when I
checked. Here's the nmap compilation log.

Just curious. Have you followed the instructions at the end of the ./configure step?

checking for GTK+ - version >= 2.0.0... no
*** Could not run GTK+ test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the

configure: WARNING: NMAPFE WILL NOT BE BUILT -- BUT NMAP SHOULD STILL WORK

"See the file config.log for the exact error".

You may find that include/header files are not found, or other error.

apt-cache search gtk may prove useful to see if you are missing some devel libraries. Sorry I can be
more specific. I don't use Debian GNU/Linux.
