Hi, I'm using Fedora Core 4 and GCC 4 and I get the famous: "Failed to
determine the netmask of ! : No such device"

It doesnt work even if you compile nmap with gcc32. ;-(

Cheers. Bye.

Hello All,

Just so I can plan some weekend activities and VM's...

What (distros/platforms/versions, etc.) still do not compile on
gcc4?

Most of the reports I have heard have been using Fedora Core 4, though
it may happen on the most recent SuSe release too. Nmap compiles, but
crashes for unclear reasons. See:

http://seclists.org/lists/nmap-dev/2005/Jul-Sep/0049.html

The error is "Failed to determine the netmask of ! : No such device"

There is more in that mail thread. It works fine on my Fedora Core 3
boxes, but I haven't had a chance to install FC4 yet.

Cheers,
-F
