It would be nice not to have to butcher your services file each time
though.

You can just tweak a services file and use that -

  -F Only scans ports listed in nmap-services

When you have a large number of ports to scan, it will be great
to be able to read the ports from a file, similar to reading IPs
from a file.

Suggestion

-iL inputfile (IPs)
-iP inputfile (Ports)
