Hi, Yes, check out the Nmap modules on CPAN .. there are at least two out now, and both provide an easy way to parse the XML output from nmap and persist it however you would like. I have used Nmap::Scanner to do just this at several jobs .. it is an easy thing to do :). Rufio, if you would like some assistance doing a perl script that persists nmap data to a database, please feel free to write me on or off the list .. I could provide you DBI examples customized to what you want to do pretty easily as I have been doing perl programming for quite a while now. When I do assessments, I tend to compare the currently open ports with ports found few weeks or months ago -- to see what's changed. Instead of keeping hardcopy, I figured I should just log it to mysql, and then write a front end that can do the comparison for me. When you have dozens of hosts to keep track of, you easily appreciate the functionality.[...]Please let me know what you think of it or if you find bugs with it.For just comparison you can use XML comparison tools. As about sending data to mysql, I would more like sending data to any sqldb using libgda (if you really need to patch nmap) or write perl script and use DBI (like I'm going to do when I'll find time to figure it out) Regards, Rufio -- nmap -sS -O -p80,81 www.microsoft.com [..] Running: Linux 2.5.X OS details: Linux Kernel 2.4.18 - 2.5.70 (X86) --------------------------------------------------------------------- For help using this (nmap-dev) mailing list, send a blank email to nmap-dev-help () insecure org .
