o Fixed (I hope) problem where Nmap would abort, complaining that "Assertion `pt->down_this_block > 0' failed". Thanks to ray () 24hoursecurity org and mugz () x-mafia com for reporting and helping me debug this problem.
Notsomuch ;( My first attempt running 3.25 against a substantial target list (several class B's) of mostly-firewalled hosts resulted in the above assertion failure. I attempted to reproduce it (just reran with exactly the same options); nmap apparently got a hundred or so hosts further, and then segfaulted. Doh. Unfortunately I had ulimit -c 0'ed, and have not had the time / opportunity to reproduce since then; fell back to 3.00. Next I will try to make sure it'll produce a core, and/or run with --packet_trace to make a more useful bug report than "it broke", but I figured it was useful anyway to know the above fix wasn't enough :( Thanks, Hank Leininger <hlein () progressive-comp com> E407 AEF4 761E D39C D401 D4F4 22F8 EF11 861A A6F1 -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iD8DBQE+pq0bIvjvEYYapvERAt5YAJ9uECMbudlLMA+FledfFRa+dRBvvACeNlNS 42Kp35wtT54FilJxaf1vou8= =pj2C -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------------------------------------------------------------- For help using this (nmap-dev) mailing list, send a blank email to nmap-dev-help () insecure org .
