Hi List/Dug: I took a look at libdnet. It looks good. However, my feeling on this is that Win32 requires a separate library. Porting libdnet is a good idea; however the actual output will no longer be a "port"; it will resemble a separate implementation (more on the lines of WinIP or libraw or whatever). So, I think it is about time Win32 had a network library of its own. LibnetNT was a good port. However, it has lived its time. We need a much more powerful library that can support PCAP and Raw Sockets both at the same time and provider features similar to libdnet. May be the library interfaces can be similar to libdnet. Just thinking... I'm calling it libraw (www.sourceforge.net/projects/libraw). The goal is to be able to select an adapter and a protocol (assuming that the protocol makes sense in the context of an adapter -- opening an Ethernet card for PPP would not be allowed :) and then the library will abstract the adapter for direct read/write of that protocol.
any chance you'd be interested in working on the win32 port of libdnet (http://libdnet.sourceforge.net/) instead? -d. --- http://www.monkey.org/~dugsong/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- For help using this (nmap-dev) mailing list, send a blank email to nmap-dev-help () insecure org .
