Wrong.

Potential intruders doing quick mass scans of multiple hosts will probably
bypass your machine in the event they are looking to exploit a "Linux"
machine and your fingerprint doesn't match up.

It's just another little thing you can do in the overall scheme of things to
harden your host protection.
