I have released Nmap 2.52 a couple days ago. I know I said I was planning
to only do that if someone finds an important bug, but I got impatient :).

I forgot to announce the release to the mailing list or anyone else. But
half an hour later I cruised over to www.technotronic.com and saw that
they had already found the release, extracted the changelog, and posted
the information. Wow! Vacuum and the rest of the technotronic.com crew
are fast! We recommend Technotronic for obtaining the very latest
security release news.

Anyway, here are the changes in 2.52 :

-- Added very simple man pages for xnmap/nmapfe (lack of man pages for
these was noticed by LaMont Jones (lamont (at) hp.com), the Debian
Nmap package maintainer, based on bug report by Adrian Bunk (bunk
   (at) fs.tum.de ).

-- Fixed a "Status: Down" machine name output problem in machine
parseable logs found by Alek O. Komarnitsky ( alek (at) ast.lmco.com )

-- Took some wierd files out of the doc directory (cd, grep , vi, and
   .swp)

-- Fixed some typos found by Thomas Klausner ( wiz (at)
   danbala.ifoer.tuwien.ac.at )

-- Updated nmap-rpc with new entries found in the latest version of Eilon
   Gishri's rpc list.

For those of you running Linux/x86 w/rpm (www.rpm.org), you can
install/upgrade to the newest version of nmap/nmapfe with these
commands:

rpm -vhU (nmap url)
where (nmap url) is one (or both) of these:
ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap/nmap-2.52-1.i386.rpm
ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap/nmap-frontend-0.2.52-1.i386.rpm

source tarballs and source RPMs are available at:
http://www.insecure.org/nmap/ or ftp://ftp.server51.freshmeat.net/pub/nmap

Cheers,
Fyodor
