UDP scans

I find it interesting that the "rough table of current Nmap operating system
support: " does not mention "UDP scan (-sU)".  I'm trying to use this
on Solais 2.5, 2.6, and 7 to no avail.  Has anyone successfully built
nmap for UDP scans for these versions of Solaris?

I suspect nmap is not properly "detect[ing] this rate limiting and slow[ing]
down accordingly" as documented in the on-line man page.  :-(

Is it feasible to add an option to specify an inter-UDP probe delay?
