Network traffic simulator

Hi,I am looking to validate the performance specs of a core router. I am looking for a network traffic simulator which 
can simulate 40 gbps of traffic. I am looking for a simulator with sfp+ ports.
I am interested in any input as to brands to look at, build one myself etc.
