Yo Christian!

Singnet, in Singapore, scanned all their direct connect customers
for BO and some other things 2 years ago.  The local newspapers picked
it up front page for days.  They were racked over the coals 
for "invasion
of privacy".  Very bad PR to scan your customers without 
prior informed
consent.  Even then some will get bent.
