For nmap, just use the db_nmap command under Metasploit & it will
automatically import the results of the scans into the database.
(Assuming of course, that you have created the database beforehand)

In regards to using db_import_nessus_nbe, you specify the file, ex:
'db_import_nessus_nbe /root/docs/115_scan.nbe'

All of this can be found under the Information Gathering &
Vulnerability Scanning sections of
http://www.offensive-security.com/metasploit-unleashed/.

once i have saved a scan from either nmap or nessus and i use
db_import_nessus_nbe to import the scans to the console, does metasploit
scan the entire system for the necessary files or does it simply check the
default folder where the scans are saved?
if i have not installed the scanners in their default directories then will
i have to specify the path where metasploit is supposed to look for the
file? if so how do i do it?
nmap allows saving of scans in 2 formats: .xml and nmap text format; which
one is compatible with metasploit and how do i import namp results(the
command) into metasploit?

thanks in advance
