broken encoder

I've tried this out of a fresh install of MSF 3beta 2 svn, updated,
reinstalled without updating, still receiving same errors.
Is it my system or has nobody tested this module yet?

msf > msfencode -n x86/unicode_mixed
/home/framework/lib/msf/core/module_manager.rb:86:in `+': can't convert nil
into String (TypeError)
        from /home/framework/lib/msf/core/module_manager.rb:86:in `create'
