Only a valid question if you use the Windows version :-) 

To install on Windows:

1. Download the snapshot to C:\framework-snapshot.tar.gz 
2. Open a Cygwin shell from the menu
3. Type the following commands:
 $ mv framework-2.2 framework-old
 $ tar -zpxvf /cygdrive/c/framework.tar.gz

That should do it, the next time you open msfconsole, it should be 
launched from the extracted snapshot directory.
