Dave,

Just a personal observation. With so much of technology, including "time saving" or productivity gadgets - it is the
grief, time, heartache, stress, prep, etc. that I find most problematic. I just had to upgrade my OS on my home
machine, and this process took a LONG time, including a lot of re-installing software. And things not working as
advertised, promised, etc. Thank god for online groups, forums, web 2.0, etc. for tips and tricks.

Things get WAY worse when multiple folks are involved. Have I ranted about my iPhone 3G that I, as a good citizen,
didn't unlock but tried to use as a touch, which I was assured was fine? One fine day, after a medium update, it
became an iBrick. This was after getting assurances that wouldn't be the case. I call up Apple, and they say talk to
AT&T. AT&T says they no longer have a relationship with me). Etc.

Like you said, 1-2 days here vs. there for your iPhone 4.0 isn't the point.

Rahul

p.s. reminds me of the story of a cable operator who promised a $20 credit if they were not on time for their
scheduled appointment. Time? between 8 AM and 5 PM. Or the airlines that schedule a Pittsburgh to NYC flight as some
1 hr 50 minutes just so they have a buffer and can improve their on-time stats? When will we stop allowing such
stunts?

after many painful times I managed to get an order for an Iphone 4 for delivery on June 24

I got a note from Apple and indeed a congratulations from an Apple rep saying that it would be delivered early on
the 23 rd.

I then got a email from Apple confirming that the 23 would be the day and to ignore the 24 th date and to make sure
some one would be there to sign for it.

Wel!!! I tracked the Fedex shipment and it arrived in Pittsburgh on the 22 nd and there it sits.

So I called Fedex and they said nonsense!!. Apple did not know what it was doing, Fedex will deliver on the 24 th.

Clearly I am annoyed that I had to arrange for someone to receive it but I am must more disturbed that Apple seems
either not to care how it's venders deal with it's customers or it is incompetent in dealing with them.

And don't tell me I can wait, that is not the issue. It is it is time for Apple to grow up.

Dave
