Dave,

Although everyone seems to be in agreement that it's a good idea, how does it stop the fundamentally simple upgrade of "one extra person involved to dress you with the explosive undies". This extra person could themselves be the bomb maker, who wouldnt even have to worry about washing his/her hands. All I see from this is a false sense of heightened security and some new ways to have false positives. Alternatively, if they remove detection of nitroglycerin to avoid annoying the cardiac patients, would it not take long for the word to get out that nitro was 'safe' to pass TSA inspection? And that's just one nitrate. Think of all the others?
