A question to the academics on IP and anyone else interested

Stevens Institute is in the process of adding Stevens Faculty to the Board of Trustees and to some of the Committees . 
There are questions re the treatment of such with respect to voting, conflicts of interest, confidentiality etc. I 
would greatly appreciate any input on what other schools do.
