Also welcome (though it is indeed a can of worms) would be a revision of CALEA to bring it into the 21st Century. Currently, broadband providers are not compensated for the costs involved in enabling surveillance, but telephone companies -- the dinosaurs of the past -- are. What's more, the requirements are murky and in some cases unnecessarily onerous. The law needs to treat ISPs reasonably and fairly.--Brett Glass
