Interesting but sort of theatrical, no? Sort of like the generic robots from 1930's home automation cartoons where everything was conducted by a congery of gloved arms.

In a similar vein, when Dunkin' Donuts decided they were going to start serving espresso, they hunted for an automated espresso machine specifically to avoid dealing with the precision problems that semi- autos involve (I believe the perfect time for an espresso shot is around 28 seconds a cup, and i've seen baristas with timers - the ones at Tazza D'Oro in Pittsburgh used to have a little watch up on the machine to check). They picked this one, the Schaerer Ambiente:
