Dave,

What the article makes clear is that the problem is much more  
extensive than just TSA's initial over-reaction.

"A Boston judge ruled that Star must perform community service and  
make a public apology."  That means she was found guilty of a crime.  
Not to mention "She has moved out of Boston in part because of  
recurring threats and attacks from strangers."

TSA created the particular incident, but they did not create the mass  
culture of destructive silliness in which TSA operates and which  
persists far beyond TSA's limited domain.
