However the accepted metric of the success of a biometric system is the Crossover Error Rate (CER), the point on a graph where these two lines cross. http://sanction.net/cer.jpg As you increase the sensitivity of the system, the number of False Accepts will drop (you'll permit fewer Wanted Persons to pass by), but the number of False Rejects rises (you'll detain more innocent people).
