There's an interesting article in the May 7 issue of Forbes on so-called patent trolls. The subhead -- on an article entitled "Patent Pirates" -- says it all: "Hedge funds and institutional investors are financing the latest wave of IP lawsuits." It's by no means a comprehensive, formal study, but it does merit reading. http://www.forbes.com/free_forbes/2007/0507/044.html?partner=yahoomag (registration may be required; I found it via a Google search, and was not prompted for a login.) --Steve Bellovin, http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~smb ------------------------------------------- Archives: http://v2.listbox.com/member/archive/247/=now RSS Feed: http://v2.listbox.com/member/archive/rss/247/ Powered by Listbox: http://www.listbox.com
