For the past two weeks, many Canadian blogs have 
focused on Canadian MP Sarmite Bulte, who has 
been dubbed the Hollywood MP for her close 
connection and funding from the entertainment 
lobby.  This includes plans to hold a fundraiser 
four days hosted by lobby leaders before Canada's 
national election.

My column this week reviews lobbyist registration 
records, campaign finance returns, and documents 
newly obtained under the Access to Information 
Act to reveal significant lobbyist influence that 
rarely comes into public view, suggesting that 
the Bulte issue is  is only a small sample of the 
link between lobbying and campaign contributions 
with copyright reform in Canada.  The research 
reveals significant campaign contributions, 
access to Canadian Ministers, frequent meetings 
with policy makers, and government contracts.
