Bill Kent, author of "Data and Reality" one of the very few nearly
thirty-year old CS books that is still worth quoting and recommending
to students (and colleagues), as I often do,  passed away on Dec
17th. I've not seen any previous mention of this sad event on, for
example, IP, which is a great pity.
