Words fail me. Has anyone even bothered to inform the victims that they're about to be victimized *again* by having their personal data exposed to anyone and everyone? ---Rsk
My understanding is that the database has been created to reconstruct medical records for folks whose records are lost -- I understand thereare a number of healthcare situations right now where having such a database
is essential. And note it is being made available only to health care providers. The larger question is "how long is the database going to exist?" Creating it for a few weeks transition in an emergency is perhaps an acceptable privacy risk/health reward tradeoff.
