And IBM sold Hollerith punch cards, systems, training, helpdesk support and IP to the Nazis that administered the Final Solution.

Coca Cola couldn't operate in Nazi Germany, so Fanta became the drink of the national socialists.

Do you drive a Chrysler Neon? Would you be interested to know its relationship to the Messerschmitt fighter that killed thousands of Allied airmen?

Next time you cheer NASA's space program (or technologies such as the silicon chip that arose from it, for instance) consider from where it all came:

Look at the conglomerates from either of the other two Axis powers and you will see parallels.

Or consider the case of Henry Ford and the USSR:

Or check this out for simply stunning anecdotes:
"Perhaps Congressman John Rarick best summarized the extent of the damage to U.S. national security when he said: 'The factories and steel mills that U.S. aid built in Russia during the 1930s were used later to create the munitions that killed American GIs in Korea and Vietnam.' (Congressional Record, 27 June, 1973, p. E4409)." http://thebirdman.org/Index/Others/Others-Doc-ConspiracyTheory/Doc- ConspiracyTheory-FalseEnemies/TheWestFinancedSoviets.htm

How about the amazing case of the re-appearing Zaibatsu (now dubbed Keiretsu), the Japanese military-industrial complex that re-emerged stronger than ever once Gen MacArthur's plan to disolve them was scrapped. Do you own any products or buy services from any of these corporations?

Markets are notoriously bad at punishing certain behaviours. And they are very quick to forgive on the odd occasion that they lapse, knowing we all have short memories and will trade our outrage for a point of economic growth.

At what point is simply saying "Well, we have to go along or we
can't make a buck!" no longer an acceptable excuse? History suggests
that apart from the purely ethical concerns, firms that engage in
this sort of rationalization may face significant exposure and
liabilities down the line.

I think history might suggest the opposite. An awful lot of leading
German firms made poison gas and such during WWII, but they're still
around today. IBM sold computers to the old South African government
to administer apartheid.
