There are a few Mac-specific infectors. None that I know of put the  
average user of Mac OS X at much risk.

Still, I use antivirus software on my Mac. One reason is to exclude  
Microsoft Office macros. Another is so that I don't inadvertently  
forward PC viruses to Windows users who lack sufficient protection.
