IP readers who were not following the "exexex" domain controversy in
early June may want to refer back to a series of IP messages from

for background discussion of the various issues involved.  In
particular, there are significant reasons to be opposed to the
creation of that top level domain that are very different from the
ones that the Bush administration is suggesting.
