Nader was nominally running to help build the Green Party. After two such presidential runs, the Green Party's nomination is unremarkable--Terry McAullife isn't trying to keep the Greens from running a candidate, and he probably understands that the weakness of the Green Party makes a non-celebrity Green presidential candidate a wash in the presidential race and a slight plus down the ticket for the Democrats in every race where there is not a Green candidate, which is almost every partisan race in the country. Nader running as an independent is a threat, however, and McAullife treats it as such. The Greens don't have the skills to pay the bills. Those of us who favor some of the Green platform need to face the fact that the Green Party isn't capable of implementing it, not because of media bias, or two-party domination of the electoral system, or whatever other excuse, but because the Greens don't have a strategy for overcoming these obstacles.
