Dave and others,
As a follow-up to Anita Ramasastry's article quoted in Interesting-People
yesterday <http://writ.findlaw.com/ramasastry/20030217.html>, I bring you
this proof that anyone now can and will be named a terrorist:

Dog leash citation leads to woman's arrest

SANTA BARBARA -- A woman was arrested after allegedly threatening to sic
one of her dogs on an animal control officer at Hale Park.

Police say Janine Calvin, 45, was walking two dogs -- one without a leash
-- at the park, 900 Camino Viejo, Sunday afternoon when Officer Susie
Trimble told her she needed leashes for both animals. The woman refused and
the officer began to write her a ticket.

The woman's bull mastiff lunged at the officer, who used a ticket booklet
to fend off the canine, police Lt. Mike Aspland said. Authorities said Ms.
Calvin then told the officer she'd sic the bull mastiff on her if she
didn't leave the other dog alone. The officer radioed for police assistance.

Ms. Calvin, who police said has been ticketed for leash violations in the
past, was booked on suspicion of making felony terrorist threats.
