Speaking yesterday at an FCBA lunch on Wi-Fi (wireless fidelity),
Paula Boyd, regulatory counsel for Microsoft, said that Microsoft is
seeking use of the under-3 Ghz portion of the spectrum to develop
services for rural communities. Ms. Boyd said that Microsoft is
interested using the spectrum to develop last mile applications and
in working with companies like PrairieNet to provide access to the
Internet backbone.
