I million dead, as well as the damage to Iraqi poltical culture, personal
health, the environment, etc., caused by the Baathists. It would seem that
French Gendarmes and German Polizei would have been useful, but they stayed
at home.....
The Iraqi loss matches that of Germany, which lost many antiquities to
Allied bombing and Soviet looting in WW2. Sad, but surely a fair exchange
for the benefits of destroying the Nazis?
