IP: Ballmer (of MS) on software engineering

John and Ipers,

As one watches the show in this, one gets reinforcement of the observation I
made when I was in DC. There is very very little technical understanding in
most lawyers (with some notable exceptions) even to the point of
understanding what they don't understand (BTW that was less thrue at the FCC
than most). They are easily convinced that black is white.

If Ballmer is still referring to Internet Explorer, I would beg to differ.

Ipers should check out www.98lite.net - they have been providing tools to
remove IT from Windows for several years - certainly since "The Trial"
started.

My question is: Does the court know about these utilities, as what they do
would seem to fly in the face of Microsoft's assertions.

From the 98lite.net website:
-----
IEradicator 2001 NEW!!

Looking for the hit-man? IEradicator is the _first_and_only_ utility to
remove all versions of Internet Explorer from all versions of Windows
98/98/ME/2000 in 8 different languages. IEradicator uses the built-in
Windows setup engine to "rub out da big fella" in less time than it takes to
oil your 12-gauge.

Hey Windows 95 Guys - here's what you've been bugging us for!

FREEWARE for personal use!

(FWIW - I've used their products to remove IE from Win98, running via
Virtual PC on my PowerBook, as well as reverting the Win98 shell to the
Win95 shell. It does run noticeably faster now.)
