IP: Y2K and the WTC

If you wondered why the communications grid and data processing  recovered 
rather fast from the tragic 9/11 events , blame Y2K. The planning for 
restoration of information and the communications infrastructure developed 
for Y2K was still in place as was the command and control institutions, 
people  and planning developed for that event and it was activated for the WTC.

It allowed for the very rapid restoration and preservation of  critical 
facilities and paths.
