Taped to the normally drab tan walls of U.S. Central Command in Tampa, 
Florida, are pictures of the World Trade Center, a burning Pentagon, the 
Saudi barracks blown up by terrorists in 1996, the blasted hull of the USS 
Cole. "It is to remind us why we are here," says a friend of mine, a 
military planner working on the Afghanistan war.

One picture in particular provides him inspiration: He describes it as a 
September 11 shot of people franticly running down the street from the 
collapsing towers. "There are women without shoes on, blacks and whites, a 
policeman, a fireman, even a man with a turban," he says.
