I'm personally curious now. What exactly do I need to do to get copyright
protection for documents that I send in postal mail, vs. documents that I
write and send via email?

I had, naively, thought that my rights in my expression were protected in
both situations, unless I explicitly granted permission, or did so
implicitly by offering a document for redistribution.

Copyright 2001, David P. Reed. Permission to reproduce this words on the
IP list explicitly granted, in case it isn't obvious.
