the nasty little truth being brought to light by the Verisign mess
is that while PKI works fine on the white board, it actually
doesn't work in the real world.  that nasty little verification
operation gets slower and slower and slower with each addition to
the CRL, and the network traffic goes up and up and up doing it.

the sooner people realize that Public Key just won't work at
any kind of scale the sooner we get on with doing something
different
