Due to the large size of the CMU video file, I have created an AUDIO ONLY lower quality Real Audio file. Over the next day or so I will modify my home page to autoplay it but right now it is downloadable ~8megs. Dave Predicting the Unpredictable - The FCC and the Future of Telecommunications and the Internet Abstract: Dr. Farber has been immersed this past year as Chief Technologist of the FCC where he has had an opportunity to examine and participate in the attempt to control, through the regulatory process, the new communications world. He will bring this experience to a talk, which will explore the impact of advances in communications technology on our national and international information infrastructure. Professor Farber will share his insights on the philosophy of the FCC, new leadership at the FCC, and the future technologies such as all optical networks, broadband wireless and others and how these changes will impact our society and businesses. The presentation is at the site: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~farber/SCSlecture.rm For archives see: http://www.interesting-people.org/
