Hi all,

The annual George and Sandra Forsythe Memorial Lectures will be held next
Monday and Tuesday.  This year's speaker is Margaret Wright of Bell Labs,
Lucent Technologies.  All are invited to attend.

Monday, March 13,  7:30 p.m., HP Auditorium, Gates B-01
"A Computer Science Concoction: Secrets, Wildcats and the Best of
Everything."  Her talk will illustrate how computer science
research encompasses a wide array of disparate topics.

Tuesday, March 14, 4:15 p.m., HP Auditorium, Gates B-01
 "Dispatches from the Interior-Point Revolution."
She will offer an opinionated survey of classical material and  recent
research about interior methods for linear, nonlinear and semidefinite
programming.

Margaret Wright holds three Stanford degrees: a bachelor's in mathematics,
and master's and doctoral degrees in computer science. She was elected to
the National Academy of Engineering in 1997.
