Mission improbable to recruit a new web of spies

BY MICHAEL EVANS, DEFENCE EDITOR

IT LOOKS like the opening of an episode from Mission Impossible. A
government spy agency has left a message on the Internet to see if anyone
can crack a secret code.

Potential recruits for the Government Communications Headquarters are being
told that their first mission - if they choose to accept it - is to find
hidden words on its website.

GCHQ in Cheltenham is looking for recruits with the right mental agility.
Its website says: "A message has been broken into five parts, each
containing five characters. These parts have been disguised or hidden in
different ways in this website. Simply find them, work out what they mean,
and put them together in the right order. Then you will see our message!
