I was chatting (email)  with Jamie Love (re Nader letter to ICANN ) and  there were two interesting quotes

."I am in Australia right now.  The Australia government calls ICANN the "god" power for the Internet. I  thought that 
was interesting. Jamie"

and

"ICANN's not Network Solutions isn't a good enough answer to why it should 
have this power. jl"
